Spiritual Alchemy, pt 5

Spiritual Alchemy Tip #5: Law of Rhythm -- " Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates." -- The Kybalion

The law of rhythm is the oceanic movement of all existence. Everything vibrates and moves to certain rhythms; these rhythms show themselves via seasons, cycles, patterns, stages of development, moods, emotions, thoughts, etc...and so on..

This law states that the energy in the universe is like a pendulum; what goes up, must come down. All of existence is involved in this rhythmic dance of swaying back and forth, left to right. Everything is either growing or dying. This principle can be seen in the economy, there's always a high period and a low period. The seasons of nature are in an everlasting flow from winter to summer. Night follows day, the moon follows the sun. Everything goes through cycles, everything has a rhythm, everything has a pattern. There is no such thing as coincidence nor randomness because all is governed by universal laws.

The law of rhythm governs our economy, health, relationships, spirituality, emotions, creativity, etc. All things in life, good or bad, are transient. Nothing has the permanence to last forever.

How does this apply to daily life? Let's use health and energy levels as an example. Say you've been really on your A-game with your work & health kick, your energy levels have been A1, you're feeling hella productive, full of energy, and you have no plans of slowing down. You're able to keep this up for a while but one day you wake up, not feeling like your full self; whether that's because you're really tired or under the weather, or you naturally just loss some of your enthusiasm, maybe you have a migraine or maybe your business has slowed down a little bit. Whatever reason it is, this is the law of rhythm at work. None of these things necessarily indicate that something is alarmingly wrong, it usually just means that the rhythm of charging forward with full speed has slowed down thus indicating a time for a break, replenishment, rest and preparation for the pace of things to pick back up.

Since, these fluctuations are inevitable, there's no need to be worried or feeling dejected just because the momentum slowed down. When these fluctuations happen, the best thing for you to do is to just go with the flow. Rise above the negative--or low--parts of a rhythmic cycle by remaining balanced and calm in both your mind & in your emotions in preparation for things to return to the pace that you like. Don't allow the fluctuating rhythms to take you too far left or too far right, meaning don't get too excited but also don't let the less pleasant things penetrate your consciousness & lower your vibration. The key to mastering this law is Balance/Neutrality. Avoid allowing your emotional & mental states to swing too far to the left or too far to the right. While there are major things that will happen in life that will absolutely throw you completely off balance as you deal with them; if you can practice this level of balance and neutrality most of the time, in most situations...you'll be much better off & better prepared to deal with whatever comes your way in this thing called life.
